Finishing my first journal of the year
The gratifying feeling of a completed thick journal
It’s February 15th and i’m going to finish this journal here.
There is still a couple pages left but i’m going to finish this journal here because holding it down with clips became a hassle.
I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't start a new journal until all of the pages in this one were filled. When a new month started, even if it had blank pages, I would switch to a new journal. It's not resourceful and I like it when a notebook gets too thick to close.
Looking back at January
This January, I created some lovely spreads. I used the polaroids I had taken and glued all of the paper momentums I had saved such as receipts, candy wrappers, and anything paper I could get my hands on. Now that this journal is finished, I do want to scan it as soon as I have access to a scanner (I don't own one just yet 🥲).
Here are some of my person favorite spreads:
In my journal spreads for January, I’ve used a lot of cut-out photobooth strips sprinkled in. I relied less on printed ready-made ephemera and used my own materials for the backgrounds of my spreads. I would like to use more stickers for my February spreads and add more of my writing.
❤️ February:
I’m going to be more intentional with my journal backgrounds. I like patterns, gingham, and adding stickers on top of it.
I love the pink gingham so much!! 💕
My favorite spread by far for February. ❤️ I had two boxes of green tea that i’ve finished in January. I clipped those out and added it as my background. There are plenty of colors and textures now that I look at this. The gold chocolate wrapper, the glossy polaroid, the assortment of stickers.
This is my latest spread. Now that Valentines Day is over, less pink spreads and more various colors for the next pages to come.
Hobonichi Cousin Update:
My February collage hasn't seen much progress since I started a new job. Although my collage from January was excellent, February will still be better!

It’s so amazing how junk can turn into this beeeeautiful pages!! Loved to see your spreads :))
These are a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing
